The rainy season at Disney World starts in June and kids are out of school, so it isn’t an ideal time for adult trips. However, June is better than July and August if summer is the only time you can visit. Here’s everything you need to know about events, weather, crowds and more to starting planning.
June Events and Holidays
There aren’t any holidays in June that impact crowd levels at Disney World. However, there are usually a few events hosted by ESPN Wide World of Sports that may bring more people to the theme parks. View the event calendar to learn more.
Also, if you want to experience an EPCOT festival, choose a different month to visit Disney World. The Flower and Garden festival ends late May or early June depending on the year. The next festival is the International Food and Wine Festival, which doesn’t start until late August.
2025 Event Dates
- International Flower & Garden Festival (March 5 – June 2, 2025)
- ESPN Ripken Experience (June 8 -July 11, 2025)
- Father’s Day (June 15, 2025)
- Juneteenth (June 19, 2025)
Crowds
Disney World crowds in June can be heavy at times. It is a peak season due to kids being out of school. Look for After Hour events for shorter ride wait times and consider staying at a deluxe Disney resort to get free extended evening hours in the theme parks. Both options are great ways to enjoy Disney World after the sun goes down.
June Weather
It’s hot in June at Walt Disney World. However, the humidity is usually lower in June compared to July and August, so it’s a more doable summer month to visit. Expect high temperatures in the 90s ℉ (pools and water parks are great ways to cool off).
What to Wear
It’s all about staying as cool as possible if you’re visiting Disney World in June. Moisture wicking fabric is helpful — most athletic clothing has this quality. You can also purchase UV shirts (short and long sleeve) that reflect or absorb the heat from the sun.
Because you’ll be sweaty by noon, you’ll want to pack multiple outfits for each day. A cool shower in the afternoon or before dinner is something you’ll look forward to (and you’ll want clean clothes to put on).
Planning Tips
- Choose a resort or hotel with a great pool if you want to cool off in one.
- It’s helpful to stay at a resort or hotel that has rooms connected to the lobby and that has a variety of things to do (including multiple restaurants). If it’s hot or raining, you can enjoy amenities at your resort.
- June is a great month to visit a Disney water park (if you stay at an official Disney resort in 2025, you get free entry to a water park on your arrival day).
- Staying off property isn’t bad either — summer is a great time of year to use Lyft and Uber to/from the theme parks (to reduce time spent outside).
- Consider staying at a Disney Resort or a nearby hotel that offers early entry for shorter ride wait times and the cooler temperatures in the morning.
- Plan to be inside in the afternoons. It’s hot and there’s usually a short rain shower or thunderstorm. It’s a good time to eat a late lunch (indoors) and relax at your hotel.
