Disney World’s four theme parks are fun to explore at any age. There are a variety of rides, shows and interactive experiences that will fill an entire day. Your favorite park will depend on your interests, but if you’ve never been to Disney World and are looking for the most adult-friendly parks, we’ve ranked them here.
1. EPCOT

EPCOT is the best Disney World park for adults. It has fantastic restaurants, exhilarating rides, a huge variety of alcoholic drinks, live music and immersive cultural experiences. You can visit 11 “countries” in the World Showcase (France pictured top of page) and try food and drinks from each, plus watch films, listen to live music, look at exhibits, hang out in unique landscapes and purchase items from around the world.
Four festivals also take place in EPCOT each year that add to the fun:
- International Festival of the Arts
- International Flower and Garden Festival
- International Food and Wine Festival
- International Festival of the Holidays
All have a concert series, food booths and unique activities. Be sure to check dates online (including concert schedules) if you want to plan your trip around one of these festivals.
2. Hollywood Studios

With vintage music and architecture, a variety of alcoholic beverages and great people watching, Hollywood Studios is the second best Disney park for adults. We highly recommend being in the park in the evening to enjoy food, drinks and rides (wait times tend to drop dramatically at the end of the day).
Hollywood Studios also has a fine dining restaurant with walkup patio seating (Hollywood Brown Derby), interesting shops and live shows. The Frozen Ever After Sing-Along is more humorous than you might expect. Plus, Stars Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (aka Star Wars Land), Tower of Terror and Slinky Dog Dash are a must-do after dark.
3. Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom is the most peaceful Disney World theme park and a beautiful place to explore nature. In addition to animal experiences, there are stage shows, adult beverages and thrilling rides (especially Expedition Everest and Avatar: Flight of Passage). We also love relaxing at Nomad Lounge (put your name on the walkup list when you enter the park).
For a more adult experience, visit late afternoon into the evening hours; families with little kids tend to leave before the park closes. Pandora is especially enchanting after the sun goes down, but to be in Animal Kingdom after sunset, you’ll need to visit November through February or stay at a resort with extended evening hours (park hours are subject to change).
4. Magic Kingdom

The first theme park at Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom has been open since Oct. 1, 1971. It’s usually full of kids (and strollers) and has many attractions that are open to all ages. It is a nostalgic park if you are a fan of Disney movies or visited Magic Kingdom as a child. But if that doesn’t apply to you, you might not like this park as much as the others on this list.
The other key thing to know is that Magic Kingdom is mostly a “dry” park. You can only buy alcohol if you have a dining reservation at a table service restaurant. Most of the food at Magic Kingdom isn’t that great either. We prefer eating at nearby monorail resorts instead of in the park.
