Disney’s Skyliner, similar to an elaborate ski lift, is a fun way to get around Disney World. It stops at EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and four resorts. Staying at one of these resorts means easy transportation to two theme parks. Plus, you can transfer to buses at Hollywood Studios to eat at and explore other resorts (some of which have nightlife).
If you’re trying to decide which resort to book, here is a ranked list of the best Disney Skyliner resorts for adult trips and what to know about each.
1. Riviera Resort

The positive: A deluxe resort, Disney’s Riviera has a European vibe, lake views, tasteful decor, a rooftop restaurant with outdoor lounge, and good food. It’s the nicest place to stay on the Skyliner route, plus Disney Springs is a short drive or bus ride away.
The negative: The Riviera is an expensive resort, but you can find cheaper rates if you book through a Disney Vacation Club rental site (like David’s). You may also have difficulty boarding the Skyliner during peak times, but it is a non-stop ride to EPCOT once you get on board (transfer required to reach Hollywood Studios).
2. Caribbean Beach Resort

The positive: Next to the Riviera Resort is the sprawling (and moderately priced) Caribbean Beach Resort. It has great tropical theming, a fun pool bar (Banana Cabana), an affordable and well-liked buffet (Sebastian’s Bistro), a romantic atmosphere at night and views of EPCOT fireworks. Plus, there are two Skyliner stops you can use to reach Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.
The negative: There is a lot of walking at this resort, which is especially tiresome after you’ve spent the day in the theme parks. The long walks are also really inconvenient when it’s raining, so avoid staying here in the summer.
For the best experience, ask for a room near the Skyliner when you check in (requires talking to someone at the front desk after you arrive). Rooms near the Riviera Skyliner stop are our favorite as you can easily walk to the Riviera to eat and drink.
3. Pop Century Resort

The positive: Pop Century is our favorite Skyliner resort for adult Disney trips on a budget. Buildings are themed after different decades and you’ll hear pop music from these decades at the pools, on the resort buses and in the food court. It’s like having a retro dance party everywhere you go. Plus, you might see a toy from your childhood on display in the lobby.
The negative: No hot tubs at Pop Century, rooms are small, bad food options (we recommend eating elsewhere), and you may encounter school or sport groups during your stay. Note that most rooms have two beds, one that is folded up into the wall. So we highly recommend staying here on solo or couples trips (so you don’t have to lower the second bed).
4. Art of Animation Resort

The positive: If you love Disney animated movies, you’ll enjoy the theming at the Art of Animation Resort. And there are suites and dog-friendly accommodations.
The negative: The animation theming combined with family suite options at this resort typically means lots of children, including at the pools. That’s why it is the least suitable for adult trips. Plus, like Pop Century, there is one food court with average food and no hot tubs.
