Cheapest time to go to Disney World

The cheapest time to go to Disney World is usually at the end of August and in September after Labor Day weekend. Why? Kids are back to school, so there are fewer families visiting the theme parks. As a result, hotel and park ticket prices tend to drop because demand is low.

Although you may save money if you visit Disney World in August or September, there is a risk of tropical storms and hurricanes. Purchase trip insurance if you are flying to Orlando or plan to stay at a hotel (or book your trip with a credit card that has travel insurance).

September is also a hot month, so plan for pool time, water park visits or air conditioning in the afternoons. Another great tactic to avoid the heat is to stay at a deluxe resort (including the Dolphin, Swan and Swan Reserve) so you can attend extended evening hours (if available during your trip) after the sun has set. After Hours events and ticketed holiday parties are also great options.
